57 years old Arokiasamy Periannan who is a farmer from Batu Gajah, Perak is forced to stay in a very badly dilapidated house for the past 30 years with his wife S.Komathi (42) and daughter Theresa who studying in standard 3. The condition of his house is very bad due to termite attack which has caused the wood to root. He has to nail the wood back whenever it falls apart (see photo of house below Malaysian Nanban 5/11/09 at page 3). It is clear that this house is unfit and unsafe for occupation.

Why is there no assistance from the UMNO government? For example in the 2008 Budget, the UMNO Government had announced the implementation of Program Amal Jariah with a fund of RM50 million to repair dilapidated houses of hardcore poor nationwide. Our question is why are Malaysian Indians excluded? If Arokiasamy had been a Malay Muslim his problem would have been resolved a very long time ago.

Why has UMNO denied and deprived Arokiasamy the ten acres of land ownership scheme in Felda, Felcra, Risda, Fama etc 10 acre land ownership scheme.. Why? Because Arokiasamy is Indian? This is the tip of the iceberg for the hundreds of thousands of poor, homeless, landless and squatter Indians in Prime Minister Najib Razak’s One Malaysia. Fifty two lost years in this Felda, Felcra, Risda, Fama etc land ownership schemes for the Indians and 52 years of being excluded from the national mainstream development of Malaysia.

This kind of injustices only happens in Najib Razak’s One Malaysia.
