Indians get peanuts RM 6, 000. 00 in Tekun loans. What for kachang Putih business? RM 191.5 Billion is the National budget for 2010.
November 6, 2009 // thiagarajan // Indian economy-contracts, projects, business opportunities, NewsIndians get peanuts RM 6, 000. 00 in Tekun loans. What for kachang Putih business? RM 191.5 Billion is the National budget for 2010.
“Eleven (11) received RM 6,000 to RM 15, 000 under the government’s Micro Credit Loan Scheme (Tekun). A total of RM 128, 000 was presented during the 1 Malaysia Hi- Tea – cum – Deepavali Celebration at the MIC branch office in Bandar Country Homes, Rawang”. (Starmetro 6/11/2009 page M17). This is peanuts. But what the UMNO’s Mandore party has been doing over the last 52 years (albeit successfully until Hindraf’s 25th November 2007 Rally) is to create a feel good session but by dishing out peanuts. What about the zero Indian participation in the following mega projects as outlined in the national budget as follows:-
a. Electrified Double Track Seremban- Gemas( RM 1,000.00 Million)
b. Program Penyenggaraan Infastruktur Awam (PIA) and Projek Infrastruktur Asas (PIAS) (RM 600 Million)
c. Pahang- Selangor Raw Water Transfer (RM 515.5 Million)
d. High Speed Broadband (HSBB) (RM 435.5 Million)
e. Electrified Double Track Sentul- Batu Caves (RM 138 Million)
f. Upgrading of Kota Kinabalu Airport (RM 109 Million)
g. East Coast Expressway Phase 2 Jabur- Kuala Terengganu (RM 100 Million)
h. Upgrading Penang Bridge (RM 86.1 Million)
i. Senai- Dasaru Expressway (RM 70.1 Million)
What about the Indian participation in the thousands of Small and Medium Scale Industries (SMI) and the Small and Medium Scale Entrepreneurs hip (SME).
Even PKR, DAP and PAS/ P.R will not question this UMNO’s directly discriminatory polices because they do not get to play to the political gallery and the Indians do not have the political clout.
