Today marks the 2nd anniversary of the arrests of P.Uthayakumar and the 3 other lawyers of Hindraf. Today also marks the second anniversary of the open assault of UMNO against the Indian minority community in the country
This is a black day for all Malaysians. A day when all fairness was lost. A day when brute force substituted good sense in dealing with the problems and issues of the minority Indians.
.
This UMNO led government has been, is and continues to be responsible for setting our nation adrift on this very dangerous path based on a policy of ethnocentrism..It is a well known adage that ethnocentrism only breeds more ethnocentrism and has significant potential to veer out of control. An immediate consequence of this policy of ethnocentrism is the marginalization of the Indians in the country.
This is the second anniversary of the attempt by the ethnocentric forces in this country to shut up the voices of change from the marginalized oppressed and to maintain the status quo against a rapidly developing situation and rapidly developing expectations.. Today in an age of information utilizing brute force to shut off these changes is no more a tenable approach. Control cannot and will not be achieved by brute force.
We would like the people to know that after two years of trying to stifle our voices, the UMNO led ruling elite is still in the woods on how to shut us off. The more they try to shut us up, the more convinced we are that we need to speak out ever more loudly.
That spirit is captured in the Human Rights Party. The primary objective of HRP is to get the marginalized and the poor Indians into the mainstream of national development through fearless articulation of their needs and interests and through struggle with them against oppression and denial of their rights on the ground.. The struggle against the tyranny and injustice against the Indian minority in this country can only be won by a political party with the objectives such as of HRP.
As you may already be aware HRP is on the move. Today on the second anniversary of the arrests and incarceration of the 4 Hindraf lawyers, we are happy to announce that, that incarceration has resulted in a sharper understanding of the Indian marginalization problem and on the way that this issue must be dealt with for a lasting solution.
The 13th of Dec will be a day to remember for what it will bring forth to this country.
