Tamil schools have to “beg” to pay electricity and water bills
March 31, 2010 // s.jayathas // News, Tamil SchoolsTamil schools have to “beg” to pay electricity and water bills
Upon reading the article in the NST 30/3/2010 at page 24, 196 (including 134) (NST 18/10/09 page 12) Tamil Schools in Perak get help to pay bills. We telephoned a Tamil school headmaster who had confirmed that when they run out of the set yearly allocations for utilities bill, they have to “beg” for money from the pre-existing poor Indians parents and well wishers. Whereas for the Malay schools, a circular would be sent out from the District Education Department asking headmasters to apply for extra funding, should they require so.
As for the Chinese schools they probably will not bother with the Education Department allocations as they have a very strong business corporate, banking and financial sector support.
