Photos: “Tawan Port Dickson” fund raising dinner on 1/5/10 and we vote for ourselves Project 15/38.

This fund raising dinner was held at the Chung Hwa High school in Seremban on 1/5/10 at 8.00p.m. About 850 people attended this occasion.

P.Uthayakumar’s trademark “Nam Namake Vakalipom” (We vote for ourselves) themed speech was very well received. He launched the Tawan Port Dickson election strategy plan for all Indians in Negeri Sembilan to register as a voter in Port Dickson and thereafter also TAWAN Teluk Kemang.

DAP ADUN for Kota Alam Shah Mr.M.Manoharan in his speech supported HRP’s Political empowerment strategy – the way forward besides stating his no regrets in his 514 days under ISA detention and that the Hindraf struggle should continue. About 1,000 Leaflets in Tamil on Project 15/38 was distributed. So were 1000 cards on the voter registration exercise.

Some 200 members including the Lobak Branch MIC Chairman signed up to become HRP members on this day.

Veeramorgan and Maniam, strong Hindraf activists’ were honoured and recognised. A one minute silence was observed for all other Hindraf activists who had passed away since the 25^th day of November 2007 100,000 Hindraf Rally.

Also recognised were the Kg Buah Pala, Penang activists who stood their ground in fighting for the last traditional Indian village in Penang to be preserved.

Punnagai Malar led by MR K.M Raj entertained the audience with their songs, music and dances.

Also present to this dinner were HRP Johor Chief Y.Mohan and his committee, HRP Selangor Chief Selvam and his committee, HRP Penang Chief Kalai and his committee.

The HRP Negeri Sembilan committee led by Sivakumar with all their hardwork made this event a success.

Also in attendance was HRP Information Chief S.Jayathas.

Old friendships were renewed and new friends made.

The food was simple six course Indian dinner. The total funds raised will be announced in due course.

The event comes to an end at about 11.45p.m.
