This is UMNO’s calculated segregation of the Indian poor from the Malay muslim poor in pursuit of UMNO’s racist and supremacist policies.

The welfare department gives this poor En. Kassim RM 200 or so per month. We are happy for Pak Kassim and his wife, with the additional RM 600 per month given by the Lembaga Zakat Selangor.

En. Kassim and his wife would have RM 800 per month to spend. With this they live above the hardcore poor line which according to Malaysia’s Urban Poverty Line Index is RM 687 per month (The Star 24/10/09 at page N 16).

Indian poor couple live on left over restaurant food throw away in UMNO and PKR ruled Selangor  – they live with the “peanuts” RM 200 per month despite the Poverty Line Index being RM 687.00 and live in misery until their dying days.

No Zakat money will be topped up for them to stay afloat above the poverty line.

At least poor Pak Kassim has a hut in his Kampong which is rent free. But poor Kaniappan and Nagamah have to pay RM 200 or so for their monthly rentals, ie the welfare help they get is just enough to pay their rentals. And so they have to end up scavenging for food and beg from neighbours, 70% of whom are pre-existing Indian poor.

This is the same scenario in all the other states. Even the PKR, PAS and DAP state governments in Kedah, Selangor and Penang do not distribute their Zakat money, also received from the giant banks and corporations, to the Indian poor. Is PKR, PAS and DAP multi-racial?

But all this made possible under Malay-sian Prime Minister Najib Razak’s One Malays-sia.
