Hindu cemetery and maintenance is the duty of state government but PKR refuses and to grant land to all Hindu cemeteries in Selangor

All land matters in the state of Selangor is 100% within the powers of the PKR Menteri Besar. But despite being in their third year of ruling Selangor, PKR, DAP and PAS has refused to grant land to all Hindu cemeteries in Selangor, Penang and Kedah.

As a result at the slightest excuse these even 100 over year old cemeteries gets bulldozed in the name of “development”. The latest being the Ladang Batu Pekaka Hindu cemetery in Kuala Ketil in PAS ruled Kedah and the Kuala Kubu Baru Hindu cemetery where bones were just strewn apart.

Section 94 of the Local Government Act, which specifies that “a local authority may provide suitable places within or without the local authority area to be used as burial grounds or crematoria and shall make proper provision for maintaining the same.”

But UMNO/BN, PKR, DAP and PAS refuse to build and maintain Hindu cemeteries simply because 90% of the Indians are the poor, powerless and a defenceless lot.
