In any event almost all Hindu temples and Hindu cemeteries in Malaysia were built before independence in 1957. There has been hardly any new one since then.

But unlike the masjids and suraus after independence in 1957 all these temples and  cemeteries were never granted land titles and gazetted accordingly as such.

And today we even have statistics of one Hindu temple being demolished in every week (page 21) – Malaysia Indian Minority & Human Rights Violations annual Report 2009, Malay-sia Truly Racist, Pravasi Bharathiya Divas International Conference Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi 7th – 9th January 2010.

And the latest Hindu temple being demolished only some two weeks ago by no less than the PKR Selangor State government we had all eagerly voted for in the 2008 General Elections.

UMNO’s racist and religious extremist policies in refusing to grant land to all these Hindu temples and Hindu cemeteries and in one go are a foregone conclusion.

But by the stroke of the pen PAS, PKR and DAP Menteri Besar of Kedah, and Selangor and the Chief Minister of Penang can grant land to all Hindu temples, Hindu cemeteries, Tamil schools and Indian settlements all in one go. But they won’t because they fear losing Malay muslim votes and take advantage of the Indian poor being politically powerless and with no or insignificant economic clout.
