There is at least a semblance of power sharing in BN by making way for PBS in Batu Sapi and earlier in Hulu Selangor to the MIC which was almost wiped out in the 2008 general elections losing two thirds or 6 out of the nine Parliamentary seats granted to it and 75% or 15 out the 20 state seats granted to it.

Despite it’s worst electoral performance, UMNO not only gave way but bent backwards to support and ensure MIC’s win in Hulu Selangor which had a mere 19% Indian voters but 53.9% Malay muslim voters. And sure MIC won, may be to continue becoming UMNO’s mandore.

But PKR led by the ex 16 year old track record UMNO Anwar Ibrahim not only refused to make way for but instead in a more racist manner than UMNO choose a Malay candidate while the multi-racial Chinese DAP and PAS for all muslims, watched silently this blood letting.

If only P. Uthayakumar was the Opposition HRP candidate contesting under the PKR, DAP or PAS ticket, HRP would have won. After all the MIC mandore won with only a mere 1,500 or so majority. The Indian poor would have had at least a lone voice in parliament with all the other 11 Indian MP’s having been reduced to being mere mandores and the rest of the 82 Opposition MP’s including Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang and Hadi Awang refusing to speak up for the Indian poor.

It is plain and obvious that the top leadership of PKR, DAP and PAS do not want to give HRP even the lone voice at the highest political level. But PKR, DAP and PAS does not want the pressing Indian poor problems to be ventilated at this highest political level as in their political calculation, it would become a political liability as they may lose the Malay muslim votes. But never mind the Indians kena nyaya on a day to day basis.

PKR, DAP and PAS’ choosing of a non Indian candidate is not the first time. PKR, DAP and PAS had done choosing a non Indian candidate beginning with the Lunas by elections in 2000, Teluk Kemang by elections also in 2000, Ijok in 2003, 2004 general elections 2008 general elections. And now finally in the Hulu Selangor by elections.

With 735,551 Malay majority voters, PAS is ruling Kelantan. Similarly with 704,097 Chinese majority voters, DAP rules Penang. But with 715,099 Indian voters, UMNO has jerrymandered the seats so that the Indians do not form a majority in any of the 222 Parliamentary and 576 State seats, And kept them politically powerless in 28% or below Indian majority so that the Indians would be at the mercy of the Malays and the Chinese in UMNO, PKR, DAP and PAS.

HRP has never and will never beg for seats from PKR, DAP and PAS.

HRP would go solo in it’s Project 15/38 ie remobilizing Indian voters into 15 Parliament and 38 state seats respectively. This is the only way forward for especially the Indian poor.

As we are short of man power and money power we will at the first phase focus on one Indian majority seat in each of the seven seats as follows:-

Parliament Padang Serai and DUN Lunas in kedah

Parliament Batu Kawan and DUN Prai in Penang

Parliament Ipoh Barat and DUN Buntung in Perak

Parliament Teluk Kemang and DUN Port Dickson N. Sembilan

Parliament Kota Raja and DUN Sri Andalas in Selangor

Parliament Cameron Highlands and DUN Tanah Rata in Pahang.

Parliament Tebrau and DUN Puteri Wangsa in Johor.

If the Indians in BN were given a raw deal of 9 Parliament and 20 DUN it is no deal in PKR, DAP and PAS/P.R, that is zero parliament and zero DUN seats for HRP.

We are now forced to fight our own battle.

We will only take up these elected positions if we are empowered to speak up and make a stand without fear or favour. We are not prepared to become the Indian mandores either for UMNO or PKR, DAP or PAS. With the 25th November 2007 Hindraf spirit  we will succeed.
