SOS: P.M. Manmohan Singh’s visit to Malaysia. PIO in distress
Dr. Manmohan Singh is today visiting Malaysia, the country with about the largest overseas People of Indian Origin (PIO) in the world but the most segregated in their adopted state. Beginning from an estimated 150,000 even sixth generation Malaysian born Indian children being denied birth certificates and rendering them stateless is just the tip of the iceberg of the level of state sponsored racial and religious segregation from womb to tomb and targeted especially against the Malaysian Indian poor Further details are as per see our website www.humanrightspartymalaysia.com.
We have also requested the visiting Indian Prime Minister to grant the estimated 2,000 top and high achieving Malaysian Indian students denied scholarships, matriculation and University places in Malaysia to be granted scholarships to study at Universities in India vide our letter dated 22/9/2010. HRP hopes to meet Indian PM Manmohan Singh in KL on 27/10/2010
Malaysia has otherwise succeeded in showcasing propaganda the latest being Little India in Malaysia which is little more than a row of flower stalls and “successful” Malaysian Indian mandore samples to camouflage the real ground reality of the poor PIO.
Malaysia is a wealthy country with the world’s tallest twin towers but the poor PIO are segregated and excluded from sharing this wealth in almost all aspects of daily life to the point of no parallels in any other part of the world.
Your timely and crucial media coverage would go a long way to help highlight the plight of the poor PIO in Malaysia.
If the poor PIO in Malaysia do not get to appeal to the visiting Prime Minister of motherland India who and where else can we ventilate our plight to?
