No political rhetorics at Hindraf forums
All of us spoke about the true facts as it was and did not embark on rhetorics, politicking, sidetrackking or playing to the gallery. In fact I for the second time after the Klang Dinner cum Forum said that we were left with very little choice but to put our foot down and start voicing our grievances openly as we have hardly been heard in an open, honest and transparent manner in the last 50 years. I also expressed the need for the Indians to be prepared to make sacrifices for the cause of fighting for equal rights, equal opportunities and equal upward mobility opportunities for all especially the Malaysian Indian poor who are most often forgotten by both the ruling UMNO/BN and also the Opposition parties,Ngos’ and the Malaysian civil society all of whom have almost no history of seriously championing the same for especially the poor and hardcore poor Indians. This our fight for equality and by extension equal opportunities is guaranteed under Article 8 of the Federal Constitution (Equality before the law). But in reality and through the various UMNO controlled government development plans, policies and programmes there is no equality and equal opportunities especially for the Malaysian Indians.
