To date Kathiravan has performed final rites for 130 unclaimed bodies since he began the service in 2001.

Every individual is valuable and deserves to have their final rites performed after death, he said.

But for all Malay muslims a free hearse is provided by fully UMNO government funded Jakim, JAIS, Yayasan, etc as of right.

But this is denied to the Indian poor under the racist UMNO regime.

A funeral is therefore not an issue for the poor Malays, Orang Asli, Kadazan and Iban. And the odd poor Chinese have their rich clan associations.

Even new hospitals are refusing to build a final rights/ceremony hall for the non muslims e.g the Sultan Iskandar General Hospital, Johor Baru.
