Waytha Moorthy’s tactical move which saved Hindraf

Waytha Moorthy made a tactical move by slipping out of Malaysia before the ISA order of arrest against him and the other four lawyers were executed. Mano, Kenga, Gana and myself were being arrested, detained, sentenced and punished without trial in an open court of law to two years imprisonment with effect from the 13th day of December 2007 and indefinitely thereafter under the draconian Internal Security Act (ISA). At least we now have our “saviour” in the person of Waytha Moorthy outside the country to highlight and fight the mighty and almost absolute and dictatorial UMNO regime rule who rule the Indians by their majoritarian might and using the rules of the law of the jungle where might is right and backed up by their 98% police, police special branch, army, Attorney General, Judiciary and the civil service. Waytha Moorthy was probably punished for his overseas campaigns in the United States, Geneva, India, Vienna, European Union, and also London where he is based in exile now. In a television interview on TV3 on the 16th and 17th of October 2008 where Syed Hamid Albar had said that Hindraf (P. Waytha Moorthy) had got extremists in 27 countries to tarnish Malaysia’s image. Also that Hindraf has held 338 “unlawful meetings” nationwide. This Hindraf bashing session and our continued detention under the ISA despite the overwhelming non UMNO forces to have us released. I believe this has to do with the impending stiff UMNO party elections especially where Home Minister Syed Hamid is contesting and seen as a strong ally of Prime Minster Badawi.
