Chapter 27
Kuala Selangor Forum at Yam He Restaurant on Friday 16 /11/2007 @ 8. 00 p. m.
David, Vincent and a few more people from Kuala Selangor came to see me at my legal firm office in Mutiara Bangsar a couple of times. They had identified a big Chinese Restaurant with a seating capacity of about 3,000 people for the Kuala Selangor forum. They printed and distributed about 50,000 half A4 sized leaflets for this Kuala Selangor forum. Our general advise was that only 10% of the people who received the leaflet would turn up in the normal course of events. David runs a tea stall at a shopping mall. He is quite enthusiastic, determined and committed to Hindraf. Despite telling him that our weekend dairy was full right up to the 25th day of November 2007 he insisted on a Friday. Though we did not want to over-stretch on our timetable we had to oblige David. David could not get a hall in the Kuala Selangor area on the scheduled date. He had to book a Chinese restaurant and also had to order food and drinks at a minimum of RM10. 00 per person buffet for 1,000 people in order to be able to use the Restaurant hall which also had a stage and served our purpose for the forum. I was not too happy on spending that much money on food. On the assurance that if the forum could be self-financing and no money coming from our kitty like the other forums, I agreed. This was the last weekend before the D Day on 25th day of November 2007 and we had to maximise our forums and programmes for a final push before the 25th day of November 2007 Rally. On this final weekend alone we had six forums lined up in Kuala Selangor (16/11/07), Seremban (17/11/07) and in Penang, Butterworth, Lunas and Brickfields on 18/11/07.
