Conclusion on the 25th November Hindraf Rally

I had an immense sense of satisfaction that especially after the last sixteen years of my persistent and consistent work, most often the depressing and almost one man show to address especially the critical Indian problems, the events of the 25th day of November 2007 had been taken to an unprecedented and historical level and climax. With almost zero public funding, manpower, brain power and machinery we created history in the form of the 100,000 over strong unprecedented people power peaceful assembly on the 25th day of November 2007.

m not sure if we would be able to do it again on this scale and magnitude. But as long as UMNO refuses to solve the genuine grievences of the Indian poor and keep excluding and segregating them from the national mainstream development of Malaysia and denying them quality and equal opportunities, the November 25th Hindraf Rally No 2 can and will happen again. And perhaps better organised with what we have learnt

We were pleasantly surprised with the unprecedented turnout of the about 100,000 people. If not better and this time the Hindraf, Makkal Sakthi forces being no more accidental, will be far better prepared. We had first properly started at first gear from 1992 to 1998, in second and third gears from 1998 to 2005 when we had picked up enough guts while supporting Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the Reformasi movement after his sacking as the Deputy Prime Minister, fourth gear in 2006 and overdrive in 2007 ending in my detention without trial or conviction under the draconian ISA on 13/12/07.
