Out of the total 222 Parlimentary seats and 576 state assembly seats the UMNO government ab initio gerrymandered Indian constituencies in Indian “catchment” areas like Padang Serai, Sg Petani, Batu Kawan, Ipoh Barat, Bagan Datoh, Teluk Intan, Klang, Kota Raja, Kuala Selangor, Teluk Kemang, Rasah, Cameron Highlands etc. So much so that there is not a single Indian majority parliament or State Assembly constituencies. And this way in the last 54 years UMNO has succeeded in segregating and excluding especially the Indian poor, from effective representation, from equal rights and equal opportunities in the national main stream development of 1 Malay-sia.
Even such elementary Indian poor problems like licences denied to do petty trading, not even a kacang putih or Vadai licence. This is just the tip of the iceberg of what is documented and reported on a day to day basis in www.humanrightspartymalaysia.com
And now the supposedly multi-racial Pakatan Rakyat PKR, DAP & PAS is emulating this racist UMNO culture as is seen in the PR ruled states of Kedah, Penang and Selangor.
Even these showpiece Indian MPs, EXCO and State Assemblymen will eventually be phased out because they are not the winnable candidates under the UMNO cum PR scheme of bi-racial 1 malay-sian politics, in the same way Gerakan phased out Indian party leaders from contesting in the elections.
