Indian poor: So no alarm bells by Malaysian civil society

I cannot remember even one instance of any of these people ringing the alarm bells for the 40,000 Malaysian born Indian children who have been denied even their birth certificates by the UMNO controlled Malaysian government and that too only in the state of Selangor. It does not matter to these opposition political parties, NGO and civil society forces that these 40,000 poor and poverty riddled Indian children would not be able to officially step into even a kindergarden and primary school to start of with but which privilege is given to a Myanmar child refugee whose parents merely hold a United Nations Refugees card in Malaysia. They would not be able to open a bank account, a prepaid mobile phone, own a motorcycle, car, van or lorry, obtain a driving license,house,passport or have anything at all in their name,. Their situation is worst than a bankrupt. (NST 30/9/2008 page 10).

It would not matter to them that these 40,000 Indian children would be at high risk because of their vulnerable position to eventually be forced into becoming drug peddlers, robbers, criminals gangsters, or the weak among them would just end up committing suicide which suicide rate is at 600% above the suicide rate among the malay muslim community and whose single parent rate is 500% higher than that of the Chinese community because of poverty and poverty related. Dr Chandra Muzaffar and almost all other Indian elites, Indians in prominent government positions, opposition parties, NGO’s, civil society positions, english educated and mostly professionals and well connected Indians have never ever seriously spoken publicly on this 40,000 Indian children as they may not want to be branded and/or to be seen as a racist or an extremist for championing their own kind (Indians) and it does not matter if they genuinely need the most attention. And neither do the non Indians raise a finger but they all speak passionately about multi racialism meaning all the other Malaysian communities excluding the Indian poor. And sadly but true Malaysia is not a Civil Society.
