Tunku Abdul Aziz sidesteps Indian poor
Tunku Abdul Aziz and all the other said big names, Indians and non Indians alike have never ever touched for example on the said 40,000 Indian children
being denied birth certificates or any of the critical Indian problems that we have highlighted in our 18 point demands in any of their Sunday columns
in the New Straits Times where they have a column or any other column or anywhere else for that matter. To be fair the New Straits Times and some of the mainstream media had in exceptional cases covered some token issues but certainly way off from being proportionate to the gravity and severity of the critical Indian issues as it would have been for a Malay, Orang Asli, Sabah and Sarawak natives or issues concerning the Chinese or even the foreigners working in Malaysia for that matter. These people would do an in depth analysis, as was done for the Bangladesh workers. Even top NGO activist Irene Fernandez’ prosecution, discourse and high profound “multi racial” statements on law, justice humanities civil society, a just society, human dignity, human catastrophy and human rights et-cetera are but except on the pressing and critical Indian problems. It would make a world of difference to especially the poor Indians if these multi-racial Malaysian personalities also spoke, wrote, ventilated and discussed and championed about these critical Indian issues which has now hit its lowest ebb as evidenced by the unprecedented Hindraf rally on 25th November 2007. In fact it would make a bigger difference as when they say it they are seen to be impartial and with no vested interest and seen to be being above race based. They cannot be accused of being a racist or extremist which UMNO very easily made it out against Hindraf. This is exactly what UMNO wants that is these “multi-racial Indian Opposition parties, NGOs’ and the civil society to ignore these pressing and critical Indian problems and at the same time do not want us to speak up either and let the Indians suffer. But I will not stop speaking on the truth on these critical Indians issues just because I am going to be accused of being a racist or extremist.
