( Media Statement 20/4/12)

Anwar should have committed to ending 450,000 stateless Indian poor when in Putrajaya as he did to abolish PTPTN & Sabah IC fiasco.

We welcome the move by Pakatan Rakyat to highlight the plight of some 450,000 stateless Indian poor denied their innate Birth Certificates (BC), Identity Cards (IC) and Citizenship (Blue Identity Cards) on the last day sitting at Parliament House yesterday (19/4/2012). We applaude the very ‘innovative’ way to get this very serious message across to the UMNO/BN Prime Minister via the mock giant Red Identity Card bearing the name Najib a/l Razak and Identity Card No 111111-11-1111 and the address being No 1, Seri Perdana, Putrajaya, 1 Malaysia mocking Najib’s 1 Malay-sia.

Being the Pakatan Rakyat leader and ‘Prime Minister in waiting’, what more the de facto leader of the National Justice Party, justice should also have been accorded to these 450,000 Indian poor denied their BC, IC & Citizenship by a firm commitment yesterday by Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim that he would also end these statelessness as he had committed to abolish the PTPTN study loans and to form a Royal Commission on Inquiry on the Sabah IC fiasco to foreigners. Why not? Even if it is not as politically rewarding! Justice?

This would truly reflect Pakatan Rakyat being multi- racial in practice and their intended delivery for especially the Indian poor when they get to Putrajaya and not mere political rhetoric.

Well it is still not too late as Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim can still make this firm commitment at the Hindraf Rally at Chetty Padang, Klang on Sunday 22/4/2012 at 11.30 a.m. Hindraf has vide its’ official letter dated 4/4/12 invited Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim, YB Lim Kit Siang and Dato Seri Hadi Awang to give a firm commitment on what they would deliver for the Indian poor in Pakatan Rakyat’s first 100 days at Putrajaya.

Thank You.

Yours Faithfully,
