Re : 1) Demolishment of Sri Muneswarar Hindu Temple, Kg Haji Abdullah Hukum Bangsar, K.L by DBKL and police force

        2) Illegal for Peraturan-Peraturan Perlu (Pembersihan Setinggan-Setinggan) 1969 used to demolish Hindu temples

        3) Your granting permanent land titles is permanent solution to all Hindu temples nationwide.

We refer to the above matter and protest the Notice by the Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur dated 13/6/12 illegally ordering the cleaning up of a Hindu temple deemed a squatter! (copy enclosed). Why is the K.L City Hall enforcement department yet again being used on land privately owned but now claimed by mega RM Billions profit motivated private Developers Eco City, Bangsar. Why is this level of abuse of powers allowed to reign supreme in 1 Malay-sia. Especially when the 1 Malay-sian UMNO government has abolished all draconian and Emergency laws for good. Only in 1 Malay-sia and no where else in the whole wide world is a Hindu temple or any other place of worship deemed to be a squatter deserving to be cleaned up as per this aforesaid DBKL notice.

This morning 28/6/12 at about 10.30 a.m, we received an SOS phone call by Mr. Sugayindran a/l Vellasamy NRIC 551219-10-5853 the resident priest of the Sri Munusewarar Hindu Temple, Kg Haji Abdullah Hukum Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur that a group enforcement personnel of the Kuala Lumpur City Hall and backed up by a fleet of policemen were demolishing his Hindu temple. And the Hindu temple’s 100 over year old Banyan Tree (Alamaram) was uprooted and allowed to fall on the ruins of this demolished Hindu temple. Then the whole Hindu temple area was sealed off by zinc fencing and huge concrete slabs carried by cranes were placed at the main gate.

Our fear is the neighbouring 100 over year old established big Sri Sakthi Nagesswari Aman Hindu temple serving 1,000 over hindus in the neighbouring Bangsar low cost flats is also going to imminently face the same fate as this temple by DBKL, police and Eco City (see photo).

Just last week (The Star 22/6/12 at page 37) the Veppam Kaliaman Amman Hindu Temple, Jalan Kepong which had actually owned their land for 43 long years was demolished to make way for high tension electric cables as if there is no where else it could pass through in 329,758 sq kilometers wide 1 Malay-sia.

On 29/3/12 Ganesan a/l Kuppusamy’s wife (Rresident priest) attempted to commit suicide and was hospitalized at HKL because their Muneswarar Hindu temple next to Tesco Old Klang Road was demolished sealed up and hired gangsters now prevent them from entering the ruins of their Hindu temple. (Police Report Puchong No 5123/12 dated 29/3/12 refers). Mr. Ganesan himself was arrested and jailed by the police just before this crime.

Why? Why this level of atrocities racism and supremacy targeting the tiny minority and vulnerable Indian and Hindu poor community. This surely cannot be the 1 Malay-sian policy very much publicized by the UMNO government.

Kindly therefore also repeal this draconian 1969 law Peraturan-Peraturan Perlu (Pembersihan Setinggan-Setinggan 1969).

We hereby call upon your goodselves to grant permanent land titles to all Hindu temples nationwide as a permanent solution in 1 Malaysia just as all masjids and suraus have been granted as is enshrined in Article 8 of the Federal Constitution (equality before the law). Like the muslims especially the poor hindus too have their spiritual needs.

What more that Article 11 of the Federal Constitution guarantees Freedom of Religion and by virtue of Section 295 of the Penal Code defiling a place of worship is an offence punishable with up to two years imprisonment. And this crime committed on the orders of the UMNO Federal Territories Minister and the KL Mayor is an aggravating factor.
