Khairiah Mohamed of PAS today took her oath of office as a senator before Dewan Negara president Abu Zahar Ujang.

Khairiah, 38, who is permanent deputy chairperson of the Kelantan PAS women’s wing, holds a bachelor of law degree from the International Islamic University.

The Kelantan state assembly recently approved Khairiah’s appointment as a senator to succeed Mumtaz Mohd Nawi whose term of office has ended.
