The Public Works Department (JKR) during the Independence there were up to 50% top JKR jobs and about 80% of JKR labour force was Indian in building roads, bridges, drains etc but today with the systematic segregation of the Malaysian Indians it has been brought to 0 % today.

UMNO/BN racist 1 Malay-sia agenda and to a lesser extent the 3 Pakatan states is to deny job opportunities and upward mobility opportunities for the Indian poor.
