Dear Sirs,
Re: Malaysian police beat up, tortured, sexually intimidated in police lock ups and unlawfully detained for 21 days Indian couple.
We refer to the above matter.
On 7/8/12 we received a complaint from a couple Mr.Segar a/l Adinarayanan (NRIC No 860310-56-5331) and Miss M.Vikneswary a/p Milevaganam (NRIC No 731017-05-5366) who were arrested by policemen while waiting at a bus stop. The very serious all Malay policemen beatings, assault, torture, sexual intimidation at the Kepong, Gombak and Sentul police lock ups as follows:-
1) Segar a/l Adinarayanan
a) Detained for 21 days in 3 different lock ups with some days without a Court Remand Order.
b) Beaten with a stick on the head causing a still visible 3 inch x 1 inch injury on the head.
c) Handcuffed and his hands tied up to the ceiling for up to 15 hours in a row.
d) Blended chilly padi and minyak angin rubbed on his private part, face and whole body. And the ensuing boils are still visibly seen all over his body and face.
e) Handcuffed injuries still visible on both his hands and legs.
f) Hit with rubber hose on the sole of his feet.
g) Hit with a stick all over his body
h) Never sent to the lock up but kept handcuffed for days at the Investigation Officer’s room.
2) M.Vikneswary
a) Hit with rubber hose on the sole of the feet when she had refused to undress as instructed by three Malay male policemen and without the presence of a female policewomen.
b) Hit on the leg with a drying up wound visible on the leg
c) Photos of all the aforesaid injuries are enclosed herewith
M. Vikneswary’s gold chain, handphone, RM 600.00 and her handbag were never returned to her. She was released only at 2.00 a.m and had to walk home as she did not have any money on her. She even had to break open her own house doors as she did not have the keys which was in her handbag.
Racial slurs Keling, Pukimak and vulgarities were used on both the aforesaid complainants.
And even after their release policemen were still calling and harassing them.
This morning however we received a phone call telling us that they both would not be lodging police reports and getting the Sg Buloh General Hospital examination as we had advised and would not even attend the arranged Press Conference at the Hindraf Headquarters at Bangsar at 11.30 a.m today as some policemen had warned them against it.
Be that as it may a very serious crime has been committed right in the heart of the Kepong, Gombak and Sentul police stations warranting your immediate and serious action and criminal prosecution of the relevant policemen.
On our part we are recording this complaint in the general public interest.
Kindly revert to us accordingly.
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
…………………………….
