Two political parties have lodged separate police reports against a Cameron Highlands district office staff for uttering racial slurs against a group protestors who were unhappy with the performance of the district officer.

PSM Cameron Highlands branch spokesperson Suresh Kumar told Malaysiakini that the first report was lodged by DAP Pahang state deputy chief J Appalasamy @ Simmathiri at the Kampung Raja police station Tuesday morning immediately after the incident.

The second police report was filed by six PSM Cameron Highland branch members led by Suresh at Tanah Rata police station at 11am yesterday.

According to Suresh, PSM’s report stated that one employee of the district office had uttered ‘balik India (go back to India)’ at the protestors while they were attempting to hand a protest memorandum to the assistant district officer Shaffirul Amree Awang Kechik.

The memorandum list out the grouses faced by low-income workers who are facing problems with obtaining Temporary Occupation Licences (TOL), petty-trader licences and low-cost housing.

Suresh claimed that the Cameron Highland district police chief Wan Mohd Zahari Wan Busu, who witnessed the incident, was also a party in their police report.

Demands suspect lineup

Suresh said he had assured the police that despite not knowing the name of the offending district office staff, the group is confident they could identify him in a suspect lineup.

“Besides, the district police chief was at the scene and he can also identify the suspect,” added Suresh.

He described the employee’s insult as “seditious in nature” and called on the police to initiate criminal action.

Suresh lamented that there were still government employees who were racist despite Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak attempt to promote his 1Malaysia concept aimed at unifying all races.

The protest on Tuesday saw about 40 protesters consisting of Indian vegetable farmers, plantation workers, hawkers and PSM members marching to the Cameron Highland district office to present their grievances to the District Officer Mohammad Noor Abdul Rani.

Police officers and personnel, numbering around 100 people, tried to dissuade the protesters from marching.

However, the group insisted on walking to their destination to present the memorandum and the police relented.

While dispersing, the alleged racial slur was allegedly uttered. Suresh then turned to the district police chief who advised him to lodge a police report over the incident.

Indians totally excluded in Giatmara scheme

Indians totally excluded in Giatmara scheme

Indians excluded Giatmara: Shukri (28) Form 3 owns Fotography shop and building.

See the attached report in Utusan of the 31st of January – Shukri (28) whose educational background was only up to Form 3 now owns a Photography business and the building in which he operates his business. We say congratulations to him.

But our point is quite another. This kind of a scheme where Mara provides loans of up to RM 276,000.00 and Giatmara provides the training are completely out of bounds for the Indian poor. We have never heard or read of even one Indian being given the training, expertise and loans to open up a photo studio. There may be the odd Indian may be 0.1% but these must have been the lucky ones who had made it on their own despite the odds..

But UMNOs’ Prime Minister Najib Razak says this is One Malay-sia.

Why government projects and tenders excluded to Indians

Why government projects and tenders excluded to Indians

In any country the government is the single largest spender. But the thousands of capable Indians have been denied government contracts tenders and projects simply because they are Indians under UMNOs’ racist and religious extremist policies.

These Indian minority in Malaysia have to make do with the sub, sub – sub or the sub – sub – sub contracts and projects. Just enough for them to drive  proton car and buy a terrace house.

But from these Indian blood and sweat the Malay muslim UMNO gets a free ride because the projects and tenders are given to the UMNO malay muslims.

In the private sector UMNO directs the contracts, projects, tenders, suppliers to be given almostly all to the Malay muslims UMNO may announce the 10% quota for the Indians but will never implement it. We want equality and equal opportunities.

Indians should be given 10% of contracts

Indians should be given 10% of contracts

Indians should be given 10% of contracts

This begging for 10% of the government contracts comes from the sole MIC Mandore Minister after 53 years, and after being the third most senior” partner with the ruling UMNO led Malay-sian BN government. It took MIC 53 years to realise thi.

Status Quo in Project Allocation

Status Quo in Project Allocation

lge1

Guan Eng : 70% projects for Malay, 30% Chinese and 0% Indians (refer Sinar 1/2/2010 at page N4). From the 70% a sizeable chunk, another perhaps 40% will be the Ali Baba projects. So it may now work out to 70% Chinese, 30% malays and 0% Indians.

Where is the difference between the previous UMNO/Gerakan government and “our” DAP government.

Indians excluded from 17,300 Pasar tani trading lots in 364 markets worth RM490 Million sales.

Indians excluded from 17,300 Pasar tani trading lots in 364 markets worth RM490 Million sales.

Indians excluded from 17,300 Pasar tani trading lots in  364 markets worth RM490 Million sales.

This is to be increased by another 100 new pasar tani lots with 5,000 new (Malay Muslim) traders and the business volume to be RM600 Million, says Agriculture and agro based industries Minister Datuk Seri Noh Omar who also launched the Konvoi Karavan Pasar Tani. (UM 3/2/2010 at page 2).

But we know of zero Indians who are allowed to do business in these Pasar Tani. The Indians are denied the licences and plots to do business with any of these 17,300 Malay Muslim pasar tani traders.

UMNOs’ excuse is that the Indians are not interested in doing these business. But just look at the thousands of Indian traders and their stalls that sprouted out nationwide especially in the just concluded Thaipusam festival. These UMNOs’ racist, religious extremist and supremacist practices does not happen in any other part of the world except in UMNO Prime Minister’s One Malay-sia.

PKR Selangor : No equal business opportunities for Indians

PKR Selangor : No equal business opportunities for Indians

PKR Selangor : No equal business opportunities for Indians

 ( refer Sinaran 23/01/10 at page s 13 )

S.Radha , a poor yoga teacher has to beg for business opportunities form a PKR Selayang

Municipal councilor . S . Radha was merely given ( a verbal ) support for her to get a stall from the Majlis Perbandaran Selayang ( MPS ) to do business but the pro PKR Sinar newspaper misrepresents and  publishes “ Hidup guru yoga kini berubah “

Nothing may happened to S.Radha after this but the PKR propaganda has been done.

Even if Radha gets the stall, thousand  of others Indians are denied business opportunities . But UMNO and PKR will tell us that the Indians are not interested  in doing business . But  just see for your self  the thousands of small shops put up for Thaipusam at Batu Caves and nationwide . After Thaipusam ,these Indians will be denied licenses permit to do business etc  by UMNO and PKR .
