PJS1 residents’ woes to be resolved soon (Malaysiakini)
K Pragalath
Taman Medan assemblyperson Haniza Mohd Talha today responded to the woes of Petaling Jaya Selatan 1 (PJS1) residents that were raised by Hindraf earlier this week.
PJS1 residents as well as devotees of the Sri Ananda Murugan temple had joined Hindraf’s protest on Sunday to highlight their housing and temple relocation difficulties.
Haniza (right), who met the press in Petaling Jaya, said that the stalled construction of a block of flats for the residents has been resumed.
“We will offer the sale and purchase agreements once residents have moved out. This issue will be resolved within a month,” she said, adding that the residents would be occupying the flats once the flats are completed in the next two years.
She also confirmed that the government would be offering more money than previously offered as assistance with moving out expenses.
Haniza declined to disclose the amount that would be offered only telling the press that the amount would be a four-digit lump sum payment.
As for residents who have been relocated to Lembah Subang, she said that the state government would assist them financially until they moved into the flats.
Previously the residents had also pleaded their case with Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim in January.
Temple relocation
On the matter of the Sri Ananda Murugan temple, Haniza said that it would be moved across the road, 200 metres from its current location.
Currently, the temple is sitting on a piece of land earmarked for construction of a primary school.
The developer, Peter’s Brickworks Sdn Bhd, has provided a new 10,000 square feet plot for the temple’s relocation.
Haniza denied accusations that the state government is not concerned about the temple, stating that it had given the temple committee RM20,000 last year.
In addition, the temple would be receiving another RM30,000 from the national unity department soon.

UMNO & PKR: RM 4 million each for 5,000 Kg. Baru malay muslims. Zero ringgit for thousands of Indians in Kg. Medan and nationwide who had been made homeless by UMNO and PKR
80 hectres in Kg. Baru is now worth RM 20 billion (UM 19/2/2010 at page 27).
On the contrary the settlers in Kg, Medan (Lindungan) were given ZERO million ringgit. On top of that they are now made homeless by the Selangor PKR government who had transferred the land these settlers are staying in to the Federal UMNO government. Some 200 over Indian settlers from Kg. Medan Lindungan were forced to move to Lembah Subang some 16 years ago and were promised the option to buy low cost houses for RM 25,000.00 and that they would be paid by their monthly rentals in the meantime. But 14 years under UMNO and now two years under PKR, let alone they getting RM 4 million like the malays in Kg. Baru but instead now they have become homeless by the actions of the PKR Selangor Menteri Besar who earlier this month had alienated this Indian settlement land to UMNO.
PKR would perhaps have given them their millions had they been Malay muslims.

Courtesy of UMNO, Indians living in near slavery conditions
Indian squatters of Jinjang Selatan Tambahan are living in filthy dilapidated houses and near slavery conditions (refer Sinar 6/3/2010 at page S10).
Why can’t these poor, landless and underprivileged Indians be given the ten acre land ownership schemes in Felda, Felcra, Risda, Fama, Mardi, ke tengah kesedar etc to take them out of poverty? Would Umno tolerate if malays are living in these conditions?

UMNOs’ Voting for Malay development, Bulldozers in Indian settlements.
We have read recent reports of bulldozers waiting to bulldoze the Indian settlements in Kg. Railway, Kg. Pandan, Kg. Lindungan, etc. The Indians here may have lived for two or even three generations but have never been granted state land for the poor and titles issued, as some for the Malay villages, Orang Asli and native customary land in Sabah and Sarawak and the hundreds of Chinese villages. To the contrary there is no such thing as an Indian village and even if there is one, it does not have land titles and is waiting to be bulldozed in a matter of time.
But for the 100% Malay PKNS flats in Kg. Kerinchi, the residents get a briefing and also get to vote on the contractor for the job (Starmetro 5/3/2010 at page M6). The Malays in Kampong Baru will get RM 4 Million each in the Kg. Baru redevelopment.

UMNO abandons Kg. Railway Indians Grants RM 4 Million to each Malay in Kg. Baru.
UMNO’s DBKL gives the building permission to multi billion dollar developer Sentul Raya Berhad (SRB), and can give a Stop Work Order if the developer fails to build the low and medium cost houses. But UMNO won’t because SRB is an UMNO linked company. So never mind as it is only the Indians who get oppressed “(kena nyaya)”. What more when even the 82 (now 79) Opposition MPs’ including their 11 “multi racial” Indian MPs’ won’t bother.

Kg Railway last Indian village, K. L demolished by UMNO
The UMNO linked Sentul Raya Developer despite having delayed the building of low cost flats for 16 years is now sending SMS to the MIC Indian Deputy Federal Territories Minister mandore and not a formal letter. This is how much respect UMNO has these MIC mandores.
As it stands the UMNO linked developer has refused to preserve this last traditional Indian Railway village which has been in existence since the 1920s’ despite the Indians having built the Railways in Malaysia.
Having “ethnically cleansed” and wiped out this last traditional Indian Railway village UMNO is now also refusing to give the poor and ageing ex Railway workers even their very basic housing needs ie shelter and a roof over their heads.
