99% Pantai Dalam stalls, Kuala Lumpur by Malays and Indonesians

99% Pantai Dalam stalls, Kuala Lumpur by Malays and Indonesians

Almost all the illegal stalls along Jalan Pantai Dalam leading to Pantai Hill Park are either owned and run by Malay muslims or Indonesian. Despite the traffic jam it is casing it is allowed by UMNO because the Malays benefit. The only stalls operated by Indians are a car wash and that too because the Malays do not prefer to do this business. An Indian hair stylist rents this illegal stall from a Malay.

There are a large number of illegal Indonesian stalls selling food, goring pisang, phone shops, fruit shops, etc. Hundreds of such stalls perated by the Indians have been demolished within months. But these Pantai Dalam stalls have existed for a good long 30 years already. But never mind for UMNO because it is either the Malay or Indonesian muslims who are the operators. And now this 30 years will be further extended by the Federal Territories Minister announcing that the stalls will only be demolished upon buildi\ng the new stalls.

JKKK helps (only poor Malay muslims).

JKKK helps (only poor Malay muslims).

The Jawatankuasa Kemajuan dan Keselamatan Kampong (JKKK), the lowest and grassroots level government body was created to help all Malaysians at the very grassroots level.

But in reality the grassroots Indians excluded from this JKKK help.

Right from the poor Indians needing welfare help, medical help, Sosco help, Indian orphans, Hindu temple and cemetery land, land for Tamil schools and Indian settlements, are all ignored or prevented from being channeled to the appropriate authorities, causing hundreds of thousands of Indians from being excluded from the national mainstream development of Malaysia by this Malay-sian JKKK.

But Prime Minister Najib Razak otherwise cries One Malay-sia.

RM100 for Indians, RM150 for Chinese – Why this discrimination by BN in Temerloh?

RM100 for Indians, RM150 for Chinese – Why this discrimination by BN in Temerloh?

http://charleshector.blogspot.com/

Well, with regard to that gathering of old-folks in Temerloh Parliamentary constituency, area for the purpose of receiving government allocation/contribution for Chinese New Year and Deepavali, only the Malaysian of Chinese and Indian origins were invited.

And, there was discrimination between what the Indians received, and what the Chinese elders (Warga Mas – Golden Citizens) received.

RM100 for the Malaysian Indians

RM150 for the Malaysian Chinese..

Why? Why is the UMNO-led BN government practicing discrimination based on the ethnicity/origins of one’s forefathers?

S0, when they call the Malaysian Malay old folks to receive their Hari Raya contributions, how many will they be given? RM200…RM250…RM500…RM1,000?

Will the Orang Asli get anything?

The letters were issued by the Temerloh District Office, and as mentioned earlier, the monies could have just came with the letters without requiring our aging fathers and mother going to the Dewan on a very hot afternoon, and having to wait for about 3 hours plus just to receive RM100 (If Indian) and RM150(If Chinese) [See earlier post:-BN tidak hormati Warga Mas - Warga Mas diminta pergi Dewan, tunggu 3 jam, tanpa air minum, untuk 'sumbangan' RM100 selepas dengar ucapan YB.

The lack of transparency has led to a lot of questions and speculations, and some of the things that I have heard are:-

* Actually, the government gave RM500 to be given to every old folk (i.e. those 65 and above) but the MCA and the MIC took some for themselves, and MCA gave the Chinese RM150, but MIC took more and gave the Indians only RM100.

* Actually the government allocated RM1,000 to be given to every old folk (i.e. those 65 and above) but the BN politicians took a lot and only gave a token sum to the people. I heard that in Klang, they got RM500 - do not know why in Temerloh only RM150/RM100...

* The money is given only for the old folks (i.e. those 65 and above), who voted for the BN [or are BN party members], and that is the reason why many old people did not receive the money…

* Surely, there were a lot of old folks that day who were not even from Temerloh area that took the money since the envelopes did not contain the names of the recepient – surely the BN people also took a lot of the money. I am certain that if you looked at the accounts, they would say they gave out maybe 10 or 20 times more than was given out.

* They wanted to pocket the money that was allocated for all the old people of Temerloh (i.e. 65 and above), and that is why they just did not send to all those old people in Temerloh(using maybe the Electoral Roll) to their own address with a check/wang pos in the name of the old people. That way there will be proper records, and difficult to ‘put some money in your own pocket’. Now, you call them to come to the hall in Mentakab – only a small number will be able to come — so you pocket the money of all who did not come. Some would never have been invited – and these also you can pocket the money [How? Cash was given - so no records of who actually received - if wang pos/check, then it will be in the name of the old folks - more difficult to take the money for your own.

* I am sure the government would not have allocated just RM100 (for Indians) and RM150 (for Chinese) because Najib is now talking about 1Malaysia - and surely all will have received the same allocation.

* I am sure the BN government would not have been so mean, and given so little - Taking a Taxi to get to the hall, and to go back itself cost about RM30-RM40, and lunch and drinks would have cost about RM10- and surely, it is non-sense to just give people RM100...RM150. It is so cruel. A reasonable sum would have been RM1,200 (i.e. about RM100 per month) or maybe even RM600 as times are bad.

* What was that money for? I do not know. How much did the UMNO-led BN government allocate for each warga mas? I do not know. How much of the allocated money were wrongly pocketed by the BN ppolitical parties and politicians? I do not know.

This is the problem with a lack of transparency - openness and information. There will always be a lot of speculation. And people always think that someone has taken money allocated for the people ...i.e. that there has been some corruption.

The UMNO-led BN government must immediately disclose how much money was allocated for each Warga Mas in Temerloh? Was there a different amount allocated for Chinese and Indians, and if so, why?

Are we living in an 'apartheid' kind of system in Malaysia? Are there different 'classes of people' based on ethnicity/descendants/forefathers country of origin/religion/...

OR are we really 1Malaysia - where there is only 1 Malaysian, and all are treated equally irrespective of where one's forefather came from (or when they came to Malaysia).

This is after all just a small thing that happened in Temerloh, where our MP is a Minister(or Deputy Minister), and there is one MCA ADUN and one UMNO ADUN. [There is one PAS ADUN - but, I believe he was not involved in this matter at all - as he was not from the BN]

Najib, explain the discrimination, ….and if there was no such discrimination, please clarify matters as this happens in Temerloh, a district in your home state, Pahang…

RM 300 Million to open restaurants overseas on expedited basis. Indians completely denied any part of it

RM 300 Million to open restaurants overseas on expedited basis. Indians completely denied any part of it

RM 300 Million to open restaurants overseas. Indians denied.

How ironical all this is. The priorities are all very clear. The poor and marginalized Indians can just go to hell. They do not count, no matter how much noise they make. After all in Najib’s 1Malaysia just create more Indian parties out of some greedy and self seeking Indians, give them peanuts. That will take care of the Indian issue. Then take the resources of the country, give it to your cronies, your friends, your relatives and call it development of the Malaysian cuisines and restaurants overseas, speed up the process of giving out this money, that is the priority of the UMNO government. Ask Mahathir, ask his protégé Muhiyuddin, they will tell you all about the Malaysia they want to create. Just read the report and understand UMNO priorities for yourself.

Lucrative RM 10,000.00 p.m petty trading business denies to Indians.

Mohd Affendi Ibrahim (36) a lorry driver was earning a RM 1,500.00 per month. But he has given the opportunity to a lucrative avenue and now earns RM 200.00 net per day and up to RM 800.00 net per day on a weekend. Not having academic qualification Affendi earns about RM 10,000.00 per month now.

Similarly Khairuddin (30) a pasar malam operator earns RM 600.00 per day by selling iced drinks. Within two years he has bought a semi detached house in Kota Kemuning.

Nik Azura (35) sells rice and food outside the Sungai Buloh Nurses College between 3.30 p.m to 4.30 p.m and then moves to another housing estate on Saturday and Sundays. She earns RM 300.00 per day from a stall she had just opened just two years ago. (Sinar 24/1/2010 at page N 15 and N16).

But no Indian has ever been the licence, stall or opportunity to do this lucrative chempedak or such petty trading opportunities in Prime Minister Najib’s One Malay-sia. They are often denied licenses to operate such stalls in such areas.

This is the latest case of the Indians having been excluded from the national mainstream development of Malaysia.

Racist Umno Youth propaganda in London (Malaysiakini)

Racist Umno Youth propaganda in London (Malaysiakini)

Ahmad Naim

Hi, my name is Ahmad Naim, and I am a first year student in the UK. I write about my experience last weekend in London where I overhead a discussion by Umno Youth leaders.

A student in the UK is exposed to many experiences. The apolitical learn to be political, the apathetic become aware, the previously anti-social join student-run clubs and harness talents they never knew they had.

And beyond these positive developments, I learnt a few days ago that a first-year student such as myself can also find that the Malaysian Dream can be stomped upon even in a land that teaches us the values of democracy, freedom and equality.

I learnt of the impending arrival in London of a large delegation of Umno leaders from a few friends from Kelab Umno London. There was to be a private session between the delegation and Kelab Umno leaders/members. For the record, I had contemplated joining the club which swore to be run solely for the purposes of the welfare of Malay(sian) students in the British capital.

But ever the student I am, procrastination is my middle name. In any case, I was not overly keen to meet with the Umno delegation which included the Umno secretary Datuk Rauf (something) and around six or seven Umno Youth exco members (some look like post-graduate students, so I cannot tell the difference) and ladies.

However, because food was on my mind I decided to accompany my friends headed down to the Malaysian Students Department, or MSD (located next to Malaysia Hall) anyway.

Respecting the private nature of the discussion, I sat outside the modest room housed by the MSD gobbling away (self-paid) while the session was being held. Unknown to those inside the room, much said in there was audible to those sitting near the back partition. The window overlooking Queensborough Terrace where MSD is located also makes it quite easy to look into the hall.

Armed with a book, I tried reading while sipping a ‘teh tarik’ but I couldn’t seem to bring my mind to concentrate on reading. Disturbing words of racist politics could be heard coming through the cracks of the partition.

The only person to take the stage was the quite sizeable Umno secretary Rauf whilst the Umno Youth exco members also fielded questions from the floor. I wasn’t eavesdropping but the booming voices – especially those of Rauf and one Umno Youth member by the name of Megat – made it quite easy to make out the racist remarks which were spilling out of their primary orifice.

In his rant, Rauf called non-Malays ‘bangsa asing’ who were trampling on the Malays in ‘Tanah Melayu’. I remember a direct quote, ‘Jangan biarkan bangsa asing pijak kepala kita’ as though the non-Malays were interested in little else than seeing Malays fail for their sinister, selfish goals.

There was also a vigorous defense of Nasir Safar’s recent comments against non-Malays which branded non-Malays as beggars and prostitutes. According to one Umno Youth exco member present, those comments were not at all racist but quite contrarily ‘just facts’. My oh my, I saw a Chinese couple next to me trying to tune out the words and focus on their meals.

Throughout the session, non-Malays were treated as the enemy and whilst they did praise Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, there was no mention of ‘1Malaysia’, unity or multiracial nation- building.

one-malaysia5

During some moments in the session, they sounded nothing less than Vikings on the path to war – an Umno Youth exco said something to the effect of Umno willing to fight to the death against threats made by non-Malays. These threats were, strangely enough, never detailed.

Regardless, what I found most disturbing was the fact that these individuals, by all accounts, are (I think) high-ranking Umno leaders. Rauf, for all intents and purposes, as I Googled, is the COO of Umno. Whatever one thinks of Umno’s sloganeering via ‘1Malaysia’, the fact is that if even these individuals cannot help but promote the diametric opposite to what ‘1Malaysia’ is supposed to entail, then what hope is there for Umno and BN?

As much as what Najib says and does counts above all else, it is most shameful that his generals are doing their best to derail the Malaysian Dream. Najib’s decision to fire his aide only last week was commendable but he was just an aide. Will he take similar measures against people with positions in the party who speak out against ‘1Malaysia’?

I may be just a kid yet, but if Najib is to succeed as a reformist, then he must make sure the entire – or at least much of the party – follows suit. Otherwise, even the son of a lifelong Umno member will think twice about voting BN. Sigh. Shaken I was despite not sitting in at the meeting. Umno propaganda is indeed powerful.
